Rodillas Yema Cake

Aside from Mango Bravo from Conti's I bought for her birthday, Mother dear was also given a second birthday cake: Rodillas Yema Cake from Quezon. :)


Yema is a Filipino sweet treat made of condensed milk and egg yolks. I used to hoard yema when I was a kid (well, I still do.hehe).



One of my titas recently went to Quezon and bought a half box of Rodillas Yema Cake for Php 120. 

This cake is made of soft chiffon cake with yema filling, covered with more yema icing and topped with lots of grated cheese. Pure heavenly sweetness. 



I've tried this cake before, but I wasn't able to appreciate it then. 

But now I'm in love with it. 



There used to be a Manila distributor for Rodillas Yema Cake: Geicks. Are they still around? 

I'll surely ask my tita to get me a yema cake should she visit Quezon soon. :)

    this is like a much better version of the custard cake. This brings me back to kindergarten when I would plead my mom to buy me one of the yema that my teacher was selling.
