It pays to be early, as proven by the jaw-dropping Maroon 5 Overexposed Concert Tour last September 18, 2012 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum. Unlike the Katy Perry concert where we got the tickets the day before the concert, we got our Maroon 5 concert tickets the first week they started selling.
We got Upper Box A tickets at Php 3710, thanks to my friend who voluntarily ran to Araneta to buy the tickets there. :)
I wasn't prepared for this event, I SWEAR. Yeah, I listened to Maroon 5 songs and I researched on the set list too. If that wasn't enough proof, I wrote the set list on a small sheet of paper (like a cheat sheet, hehe). See? I wasn't prepared. :P
At around 8:15pm, the concert's front act, The Cab, starting playing. The Cab played 3 to 4 songs, none of them familiar to me (hahaha, sorry I just don't know the band).
At around 9:20pm, Maroon 5 started playing "Payphone", followed by "Makes Me Wonder" and "Lucky Strike". My throat was beginning to protest at this point. I WASN'T SCREAMING, I SWEAR! :P
Adam Levine doing a guitar solo |
What I loved about this concert (aside from Adam Levine) is the continuous performance. Adam never seemed to tire from singing. And yes, he kept everyone giddy (and drooling and screaming and so on and so forth). :) He even did a guitar solo. I can't describe the feeling when he goes to our side of stage (yes, our seat was quite near the stage, lucky lucky us!)
He sang almost all their hit songs, except for two, "Never Gonna Leave This Bed" and "Goodnight Goodnight", nevertheless, Maroon 5 gave a great, great show. :) I was particularly entertained with their special intro for "One More Night", their current carrier single. I fell in love with "Wipe Your Eyes" too!
For the encore, they played "Seven Nations Army", with James Valentine on the vocals and Adam on the drums. Then they played one of their earliest hits, "She Will Be Loved".

For the final song, the band did an twist for "Moves Like Jagger", with some lines from "Sexy Back" and "Oppa Gangnam Style", which was REALLY REALLY COOL!!!! :)
