Foodie friends have been raving about Little Tokyo whenever we talk about Japanese food. Little Tokyo is a complex of Japanese restaurants along Chino Roces Avenue in Makati.
When PEx Gluttony Society decided to go Japanese, Little Tokyo comes into mind. So we tried one popular restaurant in the area: Seryna.
Seryna was already crowded by the time I arrived. Good thing some people in our group arrived early. (Note to self: always call for reservations).

Seryna offers really, really authentic Japanese dishes in either ala carte or in platters. For us to try more, we ordered platters.
For Sushi Moriawase, we got Matsu or Special Assorted Sushi (Php 980), which is served with clear soup.
Matsu Sushi Moriawase |
The platter has sushi made of fish eggs, fish, and other seafood. It was beautifully presented and sushi is simply fresh!
We also had Ebi Tempura Moriawase or Assorted Shrimp Tempura (Php 420). An order has 5 pieces of tempura, so we got 2 servings.
Ebi Tempura Moriawase |
The tempura was really soft and wasn't that oily. Each piece is quite huge too.
We also ordered Nanaten Mori (Php 860), which has 7 kinds of Assorted Sashimi.
Nanaten Mori |
Nanaten Mori is served in a stone platter with shredded radish and seaweeds. The platter has octopus, squid, tuna, salmon (to name a few). It was the freshest sashimi I've ever tasted. As I've mentioned before, I'm not into seafood, but I heartily dug in.
We also had Teppanyaki or hot plate grilled meat. We ordered Saikoro Steak or Cubed Steak (Php 980).
Saikoro Steak |
I haven't tried a steak as pillowy soft as this Saikoro Steak. The meat was flavorful and very tender. I could easily finish a plate or more.
I really enjoyed our Japanese experience at Seryna. It was a little pricey for me, but it really was worth it.
I'm looking forward to visiting Little Tokyo again.
PS. It was nice to finally meet The Pickiest Eater, who dropped by during our dinner. Kampai Richie! See you again soon!
